Spinach "green" energy

In a new research it was  discovered eating spinach, a bowl about 300g, a day will  make your muscles "profoundly" more efficient  as it will reduce about five percent the amount of oxygen needed, more energy, to power muscles for physical exercise.  The effect works just after three days.

Eddie Weitzberg of the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden  said "We're talking about an amount of nitrate equivalent to what is found in two or three red beets or a plate of spinach It is like a fuel additive for your muscles – it makes them run much more smoothly and efficiently"

Scientists have learned that  is not the iron content of the spinach but the nitrates are the true energy-boosting ingredient in the vegetable. The nitric oxide is  molecule which opens up blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, and improves circulation.

Spinach is rich in vitamins and minerals, including  flavonoids  which provides powerful antioxidant protection. Include baby spinach in your favourite salads. It is recommend to boil spinach for just one minute to reduce the oxalic acid and minimize loss of nutrients and flavour.
